Interlibrary loan

The ILL service

Students, lecturers and researchers at Lyon 3 can use the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service to obtain documents that cannot be found in Lyon.

The loan duration and conditions for original documents are determined by the supplying library.

Before the request is made, it should be confirmed that the document is not available in the collections of the Lyon 3 libraries or the Lyon libraries.

Making an ILL request

Two ways of making the request:

  • Complete the ILL request form directly online (one form per request)
  • Use a paper form available at the reception desk of the Palais Library, 15 quai Claude Bernard, Lyon

A request must include at least:

  • The type of document: book, thesis, article, journal, etc.
  • The document references: author, title, date of publication, title and date of the journal, publisher, etc.
  • The contact details of the person making the request: surname, first name, full postal address, telephone number (landline and/or mobile), e-mail and signature

Each request constitutes a commitment on the part of the user and acceptance of the ILL conditions.

From doctoral level onwards, you can make requests directly from SUDOC (see the ILL department).
